Title:
PRR 7189, EFS-17M, 1964
Description:
Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 10 May 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7189, an unidentified "B" unit, and engine #7059. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7189 was built in November of 1957, but #7059 was built in October of 1956. They're about to cross Clearfield Avenue with a 50-car eastbound merchandise freight train and N-8 cabin car #478219. Visible at the right is a short stretch of the Bellwood-Tipton Road. Also note the on-coming passenger train in the distance.

Title:
PRR 7059, EFS-17M, 1965
Description:
Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Prominent here (F to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7059 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EFS-17M road switchers built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7059 was constructed in October of 1956. They're pulling an eastbound coal train and are about to pass under the 12th Street Footbridge. Note that the eastbound coal train pulled by PRR engine #9530 has stopped on the adjacent track. At the far right, newly-refurbished boxcars have been parked in front of the Altoona Passenger Station. (#16 of 44)
